Decent performance and reasonably priced

The box score from Sunday's 7-2 loss to Portland, as you'd imagine, held very little good news for Richmond Flying Squirrels manager Dave Machemer. One stat in particular leaped off the page, though: The Squirrels went 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position.
"That'll get you in trouble, won't it?" Machemer said.
Convert a couple of those opportunities, and perhaps it's a much different game. Instead, Richmond (62-52) and its quiet-at-the-wrong-time bats left the Diamond a game and a half behind Western Division-leading Harrisburg heading into a three-game series there on Tuesday.
"We just didn't get them when we needed them today," Machemer said.
The Sea Dogs, after scoring all of two runs in the first two games against Richmond, woke up with a three-run fifth inning that effectively sealed the game. Ryan Khoury, who hit a solo home run in the first inning, singled home Heiker Meneses with one out. Machemer pulled starter Justin Fitzgerald after he walked Alex Hassan to load the bases in the next at-bat, and Will Middlebrooks hit a single into shallow right field to score Khoury and Hassan.
