Good for teen - this is a very small earing
The earings are beautiful, but very small. This would be a wonderful gift for a child or teen. If I had not received discounts bringing the price under $90 I would have sent them back.But they are beautiful. I am going to give them to my 12 year old neice for her birthday. -

Islander Motel renovation about to start
The Alameda Housing Authority and the Resources for Community Development group have acquired the Islander Motel, 2428 Central Ave.
The purchase of the blighted, 40-year-old motel will allow the city to renovate it. Once renovated, the motel will have 61 new units of permanent, green and affordable workforce housing. The John Stewart Company will manage the property.
The city has committed $1.3 million in HOMES funds and $8.6 million in redevelopment funds to pay for the project. Other funding sources include $6.2 million in federal tax credits, $2.07 million in state tax credits, $685,000 in community housing development funds, as well as $556,000 in funds from Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS.
